The community group, My Brother’s Keeper from ABGS Middle School in Hempstead will be the first campers on opening day. The goals of the program are to get kids out into nature, to provide hands-on learning experiences and to deliver quality educational programming incorporating the diverse coastal marine life & environments which surrounds us on Long Island.Įight different community groups from Nassau County will be participating in this program during the summer months.

This marine camp continues to build upon our commitment to create tangible “hands-on” marine science educational programs for Nassau County youth. Wantagh, NY – On Thursday, July 22, 2021, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County (CCE Nassau), in conjunction with New York State Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, New York Sea Grant and the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center will be kicking off their 3rd Annual Marine Camp for underserved youth from Nassau County.
